We had a chicken -- no eggs would she lay,
We had a chicken, no eggs would she lay.

One day a rooster came in our yard, and caught that chicken right off her guard ..

She's laying eggs now, she never used to; ever since that rooster came in our yard!

An old camp song .. the rooster got the cow (egg nog), the tomato vine (egg plant), and many other items on the farm (some rather inorganic!).
